“The same basic meals, so boring, especially the old set meals (yawn). Let’s customise with this option, that add-on, and, oh yes, yes, the latest newfangled flavour, variant, at costlier promotion package, of course! Hey, tell you what, forget the hawker centres, the coffee shops, eschew them for coffee houses, food courts, skip the casual dining, go for respectable proper restaurants!”
I watch, and I count up your costs. Most of the time, you should even cook humbly at home. But you eat out for convenience, laziness, lack of time away from your workaholic overtimes. So you double your living expenditure, triple, multiplier - trading up that $1.50 home burger for a $7 hawker one and then a $12 fast food - before you can even earn that back, investing and cashing in on your boutique, avant-garde financial investments.
