Taking time to journey in life

alanheah.substack.com

A strategy video game continues my honest education of how to live day and night realistically. It combines turn-based battle across a map, with time passing in the world at large between such battles.

I start with a handful of soldiers, resources, and one base, and explore across continents, just like my solo-prise of independent writing, beginning with little more than what I am, and then building so much of my unique business as I persevere down the years.

Every soldier I have to understand inside out, from the wide and upgrading choices of weapons and armours available, to the different resources of food, materials, and technology components I have to scour Earth to slowly gather but quickly use up. I need to properly understand how I get these from the diverse factions of people I ally with, even though they conflict with one another, and then how I research them in the right sequence, and patiently wait for prototypes and mass production to finish, eventually recycling outdated equipment to start over with little wastage.
