It was a product of its times. But it outgrew its programming. Born into times of conformity and patriarchy, those were the halcyon days of one correct leadership, one true standard, pointless questions being treacherous dissent.
It grew up on absolute logic. Because it was officially so, ergo it forever will be. Anything less than expected of it was always its ignorance, incompetence, regardless of internal constraints, and no excuses for foreign interferences.
That perfect world started showing cracks upon maturity. Fortunately, 'softening' began, but while mosy machinery shamelessly exploited the systems, the individual units most needing peculiar time and space were even more permanently repressed.
