Be grateful for ready food. Mass effort was produced to make such emergency rations available. Go nuts. Sure, they're cheaply high in fat. But since you'd just as well be on a starvation slimming diet, have those legumes - roasted, salted, coated, sugared - to keep your motions jerking.
Or as a primitive snack mix with beans, peas, and starchy crunchies. But don't lose your molar over it, like I cracked, rotted did. Or else, torture your teeth slightly less with biscuits.
Again, the primal ones, silly. Plain baked, especially those donated in bulk to the poor and needy like us. You save on these free processed starches, though your stern dietitian disciplinarian will disapprove with martinet precision.
Forget the premium priced, with slimy chocolate, adhesive dried fruit, quality coarse-flour rarer-cereal, bizarrely spiced ones. Or there's always bread.
Again, not those with special northern milk, or raisins across the Pacific, or costs more because traditionally home-based harder and more bruising. But I would draw the line on bleached white pads, and fool ourselves with soft ‘wholemeal’ ‘multi-’grain, really. At lower prices still climbin’.
I’ve been finding comfort in watching and reading about NDEs (near death experiences), where many people have said they learned on the other side that we choose our lives and the exact circumstances. However, I don’t think this gives us an excuse to just be completely passive and not try to improve our lives, or especially the lives of others. You are my favourite activist, Alan ❤️
